You simply can't haphazardly remove something like plugging from a game like Everquest. To remove it is to give greater power to classes that can gate and completely shit on melee classes. Sure a lot of people would enjoy it for group vs group or guild vs guild, but the ramifications for newer players, ungrouped melee, and small xp groups would be seriously damaging.

Requesting a mechanic like this without any limitations (like antiplug for lvl 56-60) only shows a players ignorance and/or desire to grief. Enough with the unclassic changes and interference.

You defend plugging cause it's...balancing? That's pretty absurd. Yes, people would die more...so what? YT means a corpse run, that's it. How is that seriously damaging?

I never said it was balancing, but this custom change favors those that can gate. Its silly to introduce unnecessary changes that create imbalances. Theres simply no reason to make a game like EQ more punishing or time consuming than it already is (more corpse runs, gee I can't wait). Especially when, off the top of my head, I can come up with significantly better alternatives. For one, you can simply lock an account out of the game for 10 minutes (or 15 or 30 minutes) if they happen to disconnect while zoning. This allows the other player to get away and heal, or a player or raid to have time to kill mobs or even a raid boss while their opponent is unable to log in. Problem solved, but wait, you're upset because you didn't get yellow text, classic eq be damned. Learn to draw your opponents away from zone lines.

You people are so worried about boosting your epeens you're willing to fuck up the game in order achieve it.

Whats not classic is mostly everyone knowing how to plug. There was alot more zone hopping on Rallos than plugging. Everybody plugs, all classes. Removing it will make PVP more dangerous and significant, you will have to think about what you do more thoroughly.

I will concede that it will make it harder on non-twinks, people starting without a big crew to not be able to plug vs a fight they have basically 0% chance of winning.

Either you were a complete newb, or you did not play rallos zek early on because EVERYONE knew how to plug. I did not know a single person from kunark on that wasn't well aware of plugging, though it was more problematic back then than it is today. Also the load speeds in zoning varied so much back then based on computer and internet speed, zoning was often all you needed to get away.

They already haphazardly removed exp loss on pvp death, added a nonclassic exp bonus, and changed level range
while I agree with u, unfortunately anything can happen

This server is closet to RZ rules and no exp loss and 4 lvl range is classic. Just need item loot and it would be solid but I know that would make most of the people quit.

Exp bonus isn't classic but even you can't deny the population influx has been great for everyone.

They should do what i suggested many times. Optional item loot system, which you use by flagging yourself at a NPC like priest of discord. You can then loot and be looted by other players who also flagged themselves. You cant unflag for 2 weeks or a month. 80% of dmg has to be done by flagged players for player to become lootable upon death or something.

Not ideal but something to fuck around with.

Melee are more powerful than casters.

It doesn't give more power to casters anyway. Casters can already gate and return. What exactly is your point? If you are running from a caster and zone out, then the caster is generally going to be out of line of sight and/or out of cast range when trying to follow. Plugging mainly removes the threat from the other end of the zone.

Removing plugging actually favors melee even more, because casters with no mana can't plug and escape death. Do you not realize that casters have finite resources whereas melee do damage, FULL damage, as long as they are over 20% health?

Talking about haphazardly changing rulesets 3 years into a server, not talking about what would be classic
