I saw this all the time at lower levels. An example would be a full group of people able and willing to move their group into Crushbone Throneroom, but the Throneroom was being camped by someone farming belts/pads/Emperor Crush and not getting any exp from it.
I see no problem with the group eligible to camp the room when it's within their level range. I'm sure you can call that 'stealing'. In most cases the farmer will give up rights to the room if someone has a legitimate reason to kill the mobs there. However, in the cases the farmer refuses to leave, I see nothing wrong with the group moving in and 'stealing' the camp.

The most important thing isn't just strolling in and taking whatever you want though. Ask, compromise, barter with the players. If you're in a group of level 45's and you want to camp the assassin room where a level 50 is camping for whatever reason, ask. In the above example the group of 45's would have a more legitimate purpose to camp the room, as they'd be able to kill all of the mobs both in and below. But that doesn't mean that they can pick any ONE room and kick any soloer out. Now let's say that the entire zone of LGuk is camped by level 50 players who are there for whatever reason. I see no problem with the experience group asking for a camp, or taking one if no one gives one up. Obviously this isn't the case if there's 5 lvl 50's and 1 lvl 45 in group. Duo's or trios don't count either. PLers can go fuck themselves. If they're farming an item and you want to move in, maybe offer to give the farmer the item if it drops.

Problem with that is a high level mage can outdps most groups even if they are close in level ranges. Nerf Pets!

mostly because no noob group ever tries him since he is like lvl 20 or osmething, or ill pull the mob to them and tank it as they dps him down [You must be logged in to view images. A solution to "bottomfeeding" that's worked for my wife and I is to give the lvl 50 the named mob spawn and we move in and take all the trash. We primarily care about XP anyway - getting a sweet camp at the cost of not having a chance at the named is usually a fine trade. Often the level 50s will buff or help out in a bad situation while we get the camp broken too.
Anyway, isn't a crowded server a far better problem to have than the reverse? People will whine about anything...

The Camps Defined post goes on to state: "Any deal between players trumps any of these rules so long as all players agree. These rules are here to be a guide to players for what rights they have while in the game. In my opinion this is very similar to what SoE did with camp disputes in game. As Nilbog has said in this thread, in 99 every named spawn in zones would have entire groups at them. If one group was capitalizing on more than one spawn and a second group wanted half or to share and then petitioned, PNP would be enforced and the groups would be forced to share. This is a guide explaining how we would like things to be shared." Everywhere it talks about camps being claimed by groups. Groups have the priority. You can't camp one named or its placeholder, you have to take the entire camp. If you can't kill all the mobs at the camp, you're technically not camping the target and a group can move in and claim it. It's ridiculous when the state of the game allows a solo class to farm end game dungeon content. Nilbog stated in '99 groups would camp these named spawns. Now we just see the exploitation of solo classes on this server because it's faster to level to max and significantly easier to farm.

These examples are kinda backwards.
99% of what is actually going on is groups of 6 camping a couple nameds that spawn within spitting distance of each other and some idiot level 50 sitting down on one of the spawns and saying "ZOMGZ I CAMP THIS PNP". Which is probably the opposite of what the rules were intending. Hey, the devs made a conscious choice to buff town guards to quad for 200+. It seriously limits the xp / pp farming options in classic when you take out a dozen spawn points. That's their decision to make, and one that for some reason didn't raise the "zomgzthatsnotveryclassic" ire of the masses, or hell even remotely the attention that boats and newbie quests did. In 1999, yeah there was 2000 players on a server.. But many were holding weddings / baking / fishing / roleplaying / swimming / learning languages / raising abjuration / questing / doing god knows what else. And the vast majority were really, really bad at EQ. It doesnt even draw a reasonable comparison to what we have here : 1k peak time population of people who are mostly extremely good at the game, high level (on at least one toon) and playing solely to gain xp or camp ph4t l3wtz. And with every patch new things get added that stray from classic values and further eliminate xp camps, cramp the server, and limit our options. But it's their server, it's a great server, and we all play on it. I just laugh at the notion that Kunark is going to fix all of this. KC / Seb / HS / Droga / Chardok / Dreads etc is just going to get hammered with people and the moaning and complaining and griefing and PnPing is going to reach epic proportions. And I for one applaud the first druid who's going to bind in Trak's Teeth and burn down every forager and hunter that spawns out of sheer spite. Anyone who claims druids and rangers are pointless is going to be in for a rude awakening when their guild is bluebie-blocked from even entering the ruins of Old Seb by a team of rangers and druids. Of course, i was actually quite surprised how relatively congenial everyone sharing skyplane has been so far, so /shrug. Maybe there is hope for us after all. We'll see.
