I've had sarnaks and frogs in kunark zones & dungeons (including named mobs) use blind spells on me, black reavers in CoM proc flash of light, there're mobs in Fear that blind you. MR is a grand tanking buff anytime caster enemies are involved.

I know this isn't the Priest forums, but I've seen the cleric hammer mentioned a couple times. I'm nearing 46 and so far I can say I've never found a use for it. However the wiki page on these hammers state they are "particularly effective at smiting the undead" or something to that effect.

I've often wonder what this means, and as far as I can gather gathered that it's just stating the hammers are "magic" thus are able to land attacks on greater undead; ghouls, mummies etc. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Looking from that angle, I can see how it could be useful in a very classic, vanilla eq environment; where pixel dealers aren't hanging out on every corner giving every newbie their first hit free :P
Figure that as a cleric you can EASILY get to 40 without seeing ANYTHING better than a fine steel morning star.

Back in 2009 I skipped over the lvl 9 druid Tree Form spell, mostly because I was poor. (And it had almost no use at the time).

Think I finally remembered and got around to picking it up in my 30's. Still has almost zero use. Now on Red I could see it becoming useful, but here.. meh. Think it has a very minor regen added to it (would have to look it up). Spirit of Oak however,.. om nom nom !

I'm not sure how exactly the mob AI works but I've never seen them buff while in combat. So mobs that cast blinds are mostly shamans (Goblins, Sarnaks, Frogloks, Kobolds) which are very common at lower levels and have limited combat spells available to them. So as the shaman NPCs get higher they get more abilities just like players. Disease dot, poison dot, slow, cold nuke, blind, NPC only attacks and debuffs. Fight the Kobold shaman in Steamfont and you have a higher chance of getting hit with a blind because it simply has fewer spells. Fight the Chancellor of Di'Zok in LoIO and you've got a poison dot, a disease dot, blind, ice nuke, slow, and maybe a poison nuke.

deadeye (see invis) as a necro... didn't need to use it until I was in sky where DMF doesn't work.

You don't play this game, go away

I never skip any spells just because I'm OCD about having a full spellbound.

I have it for my cleric because I have had to sell my main weapon once or twice to afford spells. I suppose, in hindsight, the money I would have saved from not buying the spell might have saved me from having to do that...

I almost forgot to add the prompt for the thread: two casters in their 30s without see invis. To my knowledge, they were not previously acquainted. I don't like PvP, but I consider see invis to be nearly mandatory both to purchase and to keep up. I just like knowing what's going on around me and I was baffled that anyone who had the option, particularly with the ability to go invisible themselves would be without it.

I can understand people who couldn't see (again no pun intended) the use of this, but if youre escorting anyone or traveling as a group through agro areas its dumb to not have it.
