I find a lot of group issues, or really any person to person sort of issue, stem largely from lack of communication. As the OP said about his/herself, I'm someone who will send tells repeatedly to folks that I'm grouping with/trading with etc really only to keep the flow of communication open in the event of a change in plans. Being dropped from a group due to death is disgusting, however if the situation was for instance - if you died and then sat at your bind spot expecting a rez, or expecting your group to remedy the situation without any communication on your part, you're doing nothing but making the decision to replace you easier on the rest of the group. Not saying that's what happened in the OPs situation, and it goes the other way too. If a player dies, even if a CR isn't doable for a good amount of time or not doable altogether, the only thing people want is just a tell or chat letting them know what's going on.
edit - Consider if your ranger, rogue, offtank etc (non essential class) dies in UGUK and is bound in WFP. If the surviving group members identify asap that a CR isn't doable, then they are allowing their deceased members time to hoof it back and resume exping.

Along with the OP's gripe, another thing I find highly annoying is when you find enough members for a well balanced group. You all proceed to the dungeon. After a few awesome pulls when the exp starts to flow something happens and there is a wipe. Suddenly people start to leave after they get their corpse. Even knowing darn well that a few mins pulling will erase the exp loss of the wipe. Gating happens leaving just a couple groupers standing alone in a re-popped dungeon with nothing to do but gate out themselves. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Someone should at least drag corpses. That's easy...

Had this happen once, guy invited several of folks to a dungeon I hadn't been to in years (and one of the others hadn't been to ever). He overpulled killing himself and one other and immediately disbanded the group (he was leader) leaving the rest of us to regroup to try and recover the other corpse. Needless to say he's on my no group list... otherwise all groups have been fine [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

That is ridiculous. If I were in a group that refused to assist in a CR of a fallen group mate, that group would need to find another enchanter. I agree with the person who said to share the names of your groupmates that ditched you, because reputation is everything in EQ.
SK is a good idea. It will be uncommon for you to find an active group anywhere in the zone (it seems to be the place where mages/necros/druids come to be alone with their xp) but you could probably start one up. I'm bound there and am lvl 24, so if you want to group up just shoot me a tell.
