I've tried Dota2 a few times. I can't get past how shitty it looks. How does Dota2 look worse than the WC3 mod it came from? Their art dept should be fired, it doesn't even come close to Leagues level.

if you play a MOBA for the graphics you're doing it wrong. but LoL looks like a cell phone game for children.

LoL's dealbreaker for me is the champion/rune system. The champion/rune system means all 10 players dont have equal footing at the beginning of every match, which is stupid for this genre IMO.

I still respect league at least. HOTS is gross because of the extreme casual level (it is aimed at children and special ed tier gamers who dont have the brain/motor skills to play LoL or Dota. Gasoline/sektors play it so nuff said) and the fact its a blizzard game.

Until Blizzard gives me a solid Warcraft 4 RTS they are dead to me. SC2 and D3 are an embarrassment to the Blizzard brand.

i dunno if it's any different now but for the first year LoL pro scene was nothing but the rejects and scrubs from the Dota 1 scene

I could really care less about the pro scene tbh. Maybe you are thinking of LoL's graphics when it first came out? I just loaded up LoL and Dota2 on max settings and LoL definitely looks better. The heroes in Dota2 seem so generic, they have zero character. There is also no way to customize your character to your playstyle with runes and masteries.

It is probably just a case of whatever you played first. I didn't like or enjoy mobas til a year ago when my brother got into LoL.

LoL metagame more or less stays the exact same strategy (solo mid, jungler) game after game after game after game for years on end. They let you think there's more customization with the rune pages masteries and skins but really they're just micro transaction money dumps that bring nothing to the game except put a cash barrier cost of entry to the game. You'll never see the same level of creativity put into designing teams for LoL, never see crazy stuff in the metagame like 0 minute tower rushes etc because the game shoehorns you into playing the same "support and carry, solo mid, solo other lane, jungler" team you see every round in LoL.
