I think it's a female Iksar, not a skeleton, but yes there's a merchant to the ... west ... I think? (make a left when coming out of the fort, run for awhile and you'll see her eventually) who sells food and water. She probably sells shuriken/bandages too, but since I don't buy either I'm not sure.

EDIT: She's near location #5 on the wiki map, and I'm pretty sure this is her. According to the wiki she does sell all of the above.

I (41 shammy) have been enjoying the DL yetis, but finally decided to swing back to Sol A and give the clockwork gnomes a try. That ZEM sure is something!! I'll definitely be staying here for a bit if I can get my pulling under control. Can anyone recommend a safe area to camp for gnome huntin'? Those pesky buggers see invis and love to train.

Do you melee them or root rot? Just curious I never killed the gnome clockworks.

Slow -> poison dot -> melee/tank + pet dps has been my go-to.

That's how I like to play shaman too. Soon you ca head to Gfay and kill wood elf guards, they great xp, great loot and it's a really fun way to XP on shaman. Once you get the 49 pet, you really have a stout pet that is a massive upgrade to all the weaker pets before it. Are you good or evil aligned, can you kill the wood elfs?

Although I try to be diplomatic to show the world that Ogres are good-natured (unlike their Troll counterparts), I've found that elves are simply too racist to appease. So I have no problem slaying them. Would you recommend waiting until 49?

It was so long ago when I learned how to kill wood elf guards, I can't remember if I went before 49 or not. On my ogre warrior I did snow yetis till 46, then went to OT and farmed sarnak berserkers for their braids. The actual mob kills won't give much XP, but the quest turn in on the braids is fairly decent. This will get you to 48-49 level and your OT hammer without having to buy it from someone using puppet strings.

If you get to 49, and want to kill elf guards, let me know and I can explain to you the pull spot I used as well as how I found it most efficient to kill them. Also, if you do not have one yet get a Mage pet reclaim energy quest item so you can easily resummon your spirit pet without losing tons of mana. You will want to have a strong pet as it makes a significant difference.

I tried to level an alt in COM groups through the low 40's a few weeks ago. The xp at 41 felt as slow, if not slower, than level 59 for my main. It was easy to get a group but that was the only positive. It's mind blowing to me why it's so popular, I would do anything but that unless you really want to drag out your 40's.
You must have had a terrible group. At 41 you should have decent exp in COM at any lower level camp, even killing at only a moderate pace and in a full group. I did 40-45 in CoM over the last 3 months on my paladin. 41 and 42 were very quick. Exp drops at 44 and there are better options starting at 46. Trios seem to work really well in CoM if you are twinked.

This was over 3 different days, with multiple completely different groups, at all of the first floor camps besides moat. Sorry, COM is one of the worst xp zones in the game. KC is right up there with it though.
