The enemy, my red friend, is fabric softener. It makes towels soft and fluffy while also stripping them of the ability to effectively dry.

air drying is better anyway. less damage to your skin, less laundry, less water contaminants, less costly to you and the environment.

Good to know about the fabric softener, so I have to assume the towels I have experienced were pre-softened.

I suppose we are a fairly easy target now that our country is run by a team of gibbering idiots. A low blow indeed! Give us a few years so we can start to clean the shit off of the walls, replace the furniture, and unclog the toilets of the white house...

And on the subject of towels, a little distilled vinegar in the wash will knock out that mildew smell that can happen in the warmer months.

I like fabric softeners. Especially the dryer sheets!

I never noticed them softening my clothes but they do seem to add a pleasant smell as well as remove static from them when they dry.
