Ok I'm not your hard-core played-for-10-years player. I understand they wanted to start completely over on Blue, get that Manastone, then wait 6 years to merge back with their Green server friends. Read that again. All these servers did was split a great community over 3 servers. I came to P99 a year ago, got 4 chars to high 30s, mid 40s. It was great to be with the same great people who were around in 1999. Then you split the servers, Green pop is like 400 max. Tunnel trade is lame. I hardly want to play now. I'm surely not starting over. In my opinion, you should have offered character transfers, naked without plat if necessary.

Long story short, was the chance at some pre-nerf really worth dividing the population over 3 servers? My vote is a big no.
The servers were not split into Green/Teal because players wanted to get a rare item. They were split because the developers/restorers of P99 (if you understand what that means) set a date to launch the server. Blue was a beta to put back in and strip out all of the things Sony did to EQ after the classic era (original-velious).

Sony didn't keep a backup copy of the original era. The developers had to rebuild it, that was blue. It took 10 years for the small team to fix it. It wasn't the game server, we were beta testers as they made the changes to restore the original game. The point of the server was the original game, not happy life conveniences.

Blue was already in the Velious era and was used to test out all of the corrections. Blue was not going to be wiped, people had become too attached after a decade on the server.

New server rolls out with most of the corrections made. A few couldn't be done in time or a priority. New server is popular and people cry that its overpopulated in an MMO. They split the server to appease with a promise to bring it back together later.

The end result of the servers is still unclear if it will be wiped and restarted (maybe with more correct in era changes) or if it will be dumped into the wasteland that is blue and then restarted. The hopes of the players farming rare items like manastones is that they will carry the very high platinum value that they did on blue but many don't comprehend supply & demand. Get rich quick lottery ticket.

So I can't imagine what these list camps or even high contested camps would be like since we now have all the info to be efficient.

No more random exploring trying to find a good spot to hunt. People B-line directly to specific camps at each lvl range to max their time so it get's crowded quick.
it's sad how people want to re-live the past, get that legacy item they never had the chance to, except today you have that info from 20 years ago so it's no achievement whatsoever because everybody on the server has same exact knowledge, and that precious item of yours mean nothing to everyone else
