I'm honestly surprised you don't see more long term Blue/Green players messing around on Red. With the grouping XP bonus you can level into the 50s in a few weeks of casual play. It's the perfect environment to challenge yourself on content with limited resources and a small number of players. Pure Everquest.

Yeah, way more people should get off the empty rat race of the PvE servers, with those horrendous timesinks and limited gameplay.

There's nothing to be scared about with regards to PvP, because it barely happens anyway. But it does add an extra level of suspense and intrigue to the game, which is great. Even if someone does consider it to be an "inconvenience", the very low rate that it happens is easily preferably to the massive inconveniences that exist on the other servers.

Start on the server with another player or a guild, have great fun. There's global /ooc chat too, so nobody is ever alone in game anyway. Plenty of times on the PvE servers, you'll be all alone in zone and it feels much more empty, especially with the populations on those servers these days.

I tried leveling on red multiple times.

I have a 50 warrior, 41 necro and 17 enc

I had to completely quit the warrior because the fungi I borrowed got returned and I only made it thru my 40s because of some random PL session in CoM. Couldn't ever find a group after that.

We tried coming back with a 4man leveling group and we got 1v4'd by some aon sk twink in Mistmoore, that was our last session

I tried a 3rd time where I made an enc and even tried to make my own little guild. 1 person was interested and he never logged in again.

Even as someone who's main game content is wow arena and an actual pvp enjoyer, the very tiny amount of pvp I participated in on red was stupid because it's apparently either someone who severely out gears you or you get attacked while you're fighting already. And since eq is a dogshit game at baseline , if someone kills you you still have to CR and there's no DAP so get fucked if you died on another continent

Why would you go to another continent and not bind. Why would you stop playing because you died once. You already leveled faster thanks to the bonus on Red, you're still ahead by a long way. Just get your stuff and keep going. Whoever the dumb twink was, that's not common and you can quickly get out of level range of them.

ME: Im the number #1 PVPER in all of EverQuest History, and I never had any raid l00t from Velious other than Velium encrusted Gauntlets, Hackle hammer and Pauldrols of ferocity..

My static group I was playing with disbanded after that night so that was a huge deterrent to continuing.

I also wasn't able to continue leveling on my warrior because there was literally not a single person around to group with and I couldn't solo anything on a warrior with like 600p worth of gear. Like I said, I only made it to 40ish because l borrowed a fungi and I only made to50 because a of free aoe PL I happened upon. So it's not like I was thriving by any means

Real talk , I'm still not even opposed to playing red. I still think it'd be cool if I was still interested in this game. But when the server pop is like 22 ppl it just feels kinda disingenuous to say stuff like "camps are always open" and "xp is so much faster!" Because while those things are true, if no one is playing then why wouldn't I just go play retail eq , atleast there I can play completely alone but have a merc help me out

Red would still be legit, classic, pvp museum server with 2 boxxing enabled. I am not sure why they never put a green flag up for it. Population would quadruple overnight. I have a 57 rogue rotting on red that I'll probably log into once a year just to remember what gear I had on him but there's no point to trying to do anything because a rogue cant solo with any type of efficiency, 1 box kills melees on low pop.

Your "static group" is filled with cowards, you should stop hangin with them, show me your friends and ill show you your future.
