I'd rather eat cardboard and look good than suck down sugar and look like Larry the Cable Guy.

He's pretty funny though...

I usually just stir about 1/2 cup of steel cut (raw) Oats into 6oz of plain greek yogurt with a scoop of protein powder mixed in. so much better for you than the packets of oatmeal.
I use the whole oats with water; protein powder + yogurt sounds interesting though.

You don't have to eat cardboard to "look good". If you were doing it for health reasons, I might understand that. But to lose weight? I'd rather adjust my physical activity appropriately than have to resort to eating a mixture of plain yogurt, protein powder and steel cut oats.

Creating a caloric deficit isn't that difficult without having to sacrifice food that has flavor.

I actually love oats and barley and quinoa and all those other delicious cereals that have distinct yet light flavors. I eat them cooked plain in some situations.

To each their own. Still, I'd have to be pretty hard up to not add any sort of flavor to something like oatmeal or yogurt.

Fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
Cut up strawberries, banannas, apples
Raisins, dried apricots, pears, etc

Cinnamon, real maple syrup (not that HFCS wannabe)

Vanilla or Chocolate flavored Silk

I mean hell, there's a thousand things to add that not only give flavor but also provide vitamins, antioxidants, etc. Get creative?

Oh yeah I'm just coming from a minimalist standpoint - everything has a flavor. I don't taste carboard when I eat those cereals.

I do love me some homemade kefir, fresh wild blackberries (there's vines all around the land outside the city where I'm at), black curarnts (get those instead of raisins, way healthier for you), all those other fruits.. figs... fresh pressed almond milk... you betcha. <3

Steel cut refers to the way in which the whole oat was processed. Heard of rolled whole oats? Different process yet both use the whole oat. Just because steel cut is a whole oat doesn't mean steel cut is the same as rolled, thus the reason for calling it steel cut in the first place.

I don't ever recall trying a currant - if the taste is similar to a raisin, hell yeah. I know they are more healthy in terms of antioxidants, though there isn't really anything "unhealthy" about a raisin either. I love them. Natures candy and all.

Also, almond milk? Fuck yes. I love it.
