Get a very powerfull bike, dont take any leasons, helmets are for pussies, A ride always is much nicer after a 6 pack.

been on dirt for most of my life but i started riding on the street when i was 17. currently riding a vtr1000.

Didn't read this thread.

Would suggest Yamaha - go with 600cc. Don't be a geek and get a Ninja if you're a big white guy. Harleys are too expensive to be in that price range. Also don't be a jackass or get 1100cc or something ridiculous like that. You will kill yourself before you even figure out how to pedal shift.


Have you taken the training yet?

I skipped getting a bike in LA after I got into a wreck out here (which would have easily killed me had I been on the bike). If I still lived in Texas, I'd own one.

those are stupid. i tried to test ride one at a fair once back when they first came out. too heavy for me to test, but from what i saw of other people they had shit handling at slow speeds.
