I thought of two horror films:

Squirm, and Slithis. They suck immensely, but both have a few seconds of hilarity.

Sci-fi, not really bad, but try Liquid Sky.

Finally, I've never seen it, but I like his other movies,
Shivers by Cronenberg ( try Videodrome also. One of my favorite "horror" films).

do you mean it's a good film or a good bad film? I've read the 120 days of sodom and always wondered how tame they'd make the movie.
Salo is always quoted as "one of the most disturbing" movies ever. Honestly, it's fairly lame/tame compared to others mentioned here, but for it's time (1975) it was monumentally earth-shattering and I believe caused riots places.

For me horror is akin to Halloween, Nightmare on Elm street, but horrific is:

Human Pork Chop http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103743/ (true story, of course dramatized)
Session 9 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261983/(another true story that took place a few towns from me at Danvers State Mental Hospital in MA.)
Martyrs http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1029234/ (very nice twist, excellent movie but will stay with you awhile)
The Girl Next Door http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0830558/ (probably the MOST disturbing film for the general population, amazing this was based on a true story!)

Enjoy!

Major props to Cronenberg. Also try out:

Dead Ringers http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094964/ (about twin gynecologists!)

Pasolini was a genius. Its an amazing movie. However, from what I've read, I don't think I could handle reading Sade's original. So I'm assuming its toned down quite a bit. Its definitely worth a watch though.

I think Salo is more disturbing than all of those films. Not so much because of the actual gore/violence seen, but because of the institutionalization of the violence. It remains #1 on my disturbing films list. I can handle people being monsters, or even small groups (Matyrs), but Salo seemed much more than that. So dehumanizing.

Evil Deads, any of the Critters movies, Jason/Freddy/etc classics, Puppet Master movies, Ghoulies, Leprachaun movies. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head that I watched growing up. Haven't seen any scary movies in a while.
