Wow was fun for a little while, then they dumbed it down so every 8 year old could understand it, and Pandas......really? I know they were in Warcraft 3, but really? With all the lore out there for that game, and Mists Of Pandora is what they pick? So so happy to be coming back to Classic EQ, a Real MMO.

I hate people who bitch about WoW being easy as if 1) the entire game is easy and 2) any other MMO is any harder and 3) they could faceroll WoW heroics or HMs without overgearing and knowing the fights ahead of time and being in vent with a handful of RL friends.

Those who call WoW easy and demonize it either never did any content worth talking about or they equate "not grindy" with "easy".

Top-end raid content in WoW, even during the "easy" WotLK era is harder than any content ever released in EQ (this isn't really saying much, but it's always the hardcore "EQ SO HARD" people on this server saying it).

The bottom line is WoW was a fun game, but because every expansion shifted how it was played, it will always have a lot of detractors who preferred a certain style.

It is easy, I have quit two times during cata with BiS gear and sharded it so I wouldn't come back and within a week both times I have gotten better gear. Sure some of the fights require some people paying attention which sadly a lot of people that populate that game cannot do. I only raid in WoW again to play with my friends. When I am not raiding on there I play EQ.

1) Compared to EQ, yes there were a number of things that were easier. For instance no real death penalties, no exp loss, rested experience, solo anything your level or above including elites with relative ease, little to no downtime.

2) ^

3) And yet you can go into Heroics and Raids with people that "know the fight", have vent, and every add on they need to beat the encounter and you can still wipe.

I like both games, but I think EQ is more challenging.

I want my grim dark, bossfarming, hammerdin, smitepally torch soloing, cutthroat mentality diablo 2 back.
They have a weapon in d3 called " stab stab " XD LOL SO RANDOM XDDDD.
The biggest "joke" weapon in diablo 2 was Wirts leg, the fucking prosthetic leg of a dead child.

blizzard, you have changed.

Yeah, Cow Level sure was dark. Trading statues around was super dark. At no point in time were any of the NPCs humorous at all.

Diablo (any Blizzard game, really) has always had humor sprinkled in.

Even Diablo 1 was chock full of humor - an entire quest revolved around demons stealing a tavern sign because they thought it was magical. You meet a cowardly goat-man in a dungeon who is there solely for comic relief.

Feel the grim darkness!

Or maybe you mean really old-school Blizzard, like back in the Lost Vikings days. No part of that game was comedic, you're right.

Best "joke" weapon from D2 was http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/The_Diggler

Good ole Boogie Nights.

I always come back to EQ whether it was live or P99 for about the past year. Nothing satisfies my MMO hunger like EQ does. No game is made like EQ was. I am seriously debating not even playing D3. One of my good friends has been a hardcore Diablo player for years and years and he's not buying the game. That means I probably won't buy it because he would know better than me whats up with Diablo. They are making it too much like WoW and not enough like D2. Either way. P99 will be where I am for a while and the only game I even am thinking remotely about is Guild Wars 2 which we will have to see how well that does. I'm looking forward to the World versus World 3 sided pvp matches honestly.

Until then I'll be leveling my Cleric here and into eternity.
