If you're playing from the same network, you're going to have the same external IP that is why you need the IP exemption to begin with. Remember, you're connecting to their server, what tools they have or don't have is kind of ridiculous to argue. I can't imagine that having a tool that tracks multiple connections from the same MAC address is that far out of a possibility.

If you know people that got away with it, it just means she/he wasn't online to catch it

It's called a MAC address and from my experience with servers, its pretty easy to tell if multiple accounts are connected sharing the same MAC address. You were caught bro, deal with it.
