Valid point, I'll try to quit posting in the red section since it is such a tornado of negativity I'm currently enjoying myself on blue and will gladly come back to red if the population ever picks up again and stays consistent.

Thanks for both servers!

The problem with what you said is that people most likely won't come back in one huge wave. What then happens is a few people return at a time, see no one to PVP or exp with and just a vast ghost town and log. I really am skeptical of anything short of a wipe bringing a big enough wave of people at one time back where it can rebuild itself. Low pop is like a domino effect, the drop from sixty to twenty happened very quick but the uphill climb from twenty to hundred is almost impossible.

I don't want a wipe because of loots or these people won these people lost blah blah I want it because I see no other way to generate the interest in this server that will allow it to ever climb out of that hole. Kunark will be the same way. A dozen or so people return, see almost no one to group with, no options at the end game, no meaningful PVP, and log out. Re-release this server with all the changes that have been made with either kunark at launch or one month of classic max. Police the boards after that, create a server honor code like on 69 where people allow LnS, keep certain unnamed GMs as far as way as possible from this server and take a much less active role in policing raid PVP. Finally, set resists at least on MR spells to the way they actually were in classic. Profit with high pop and lots of fun.

Pleading for a wipe? Better uses for your time man, that's never going to happen.

Personally I'm not sure if I'd ever really get invested in EQ again at this point. But if we're going to have a candid conversation about the population problem, it is my firm belief that a wipe or a "reboot" a "fresh start" however you want to market it, is the only way to ever see the pop reach meaningful numbers again. But I guess people can keep hoping that a hundred people all return to the server at the same time, just like I hope the bank teller gives me a hundred grand by accident. Or just make a second box, raise donations for it and keep this one up. I don't see the big deal personally, this box will die with velious because it's pop will not support the raids. With nothing left to do the server will completely fizzle out so why wait until then with the server already on a path for death instead of being pro-active and doing something about it now?

I would like this server to work, I just see no possible way other than this, if someone else does please enlighten me.

Why would wiping the server change anything? It would be worse IMO. I for one, would quit for good. Im not ready to grind another toon to 50 unless I have my other 50 i worked for to help my lowbie group, drop him gear etc...

Now we all have our take on why the server didnt grow and in fact shriveled up to what it is now after a while. You all know mine, that xp loss in pvp was helping Zergs and griefers have their way on the server, while massively toning down the quantity of pvp to be had on the way up and even at 50, where people dont pvp because of the xp loss sting. This made the server boring compared to what people can remember from the constant pvp happening on Rallos in 2001-02.

Im still thinking of playing again on red99, but not unless what ive been talking about forever is taken seriously. This is not a threat, like "If you dont do what i say, i wont play on your server" its a reflection that i wont be investing any more hours into a game that demands it, if I know that the end result will be a dead server. We all know the end result will be a dead server, but it could last for a long time if done right.

Once again, heres what i think the server needs:

- Either removing xp loss in PVP or that the xp is fast enough that you can die 20 times a day and not care too much about the PVE consequences. Yes, surprise surprise, people play a PVP server to PVP. Wether you devs get or not that "a FPS style server" is what made Rallos great will probably determine if the server ever resurrects or not. This is not Eve online. Zone control is boring the way its done right now. There is not enough complexity in EQ1 to warrant having to gauge for an hour if you should engage a group or not, such as what is needed in eve online. Some balance is needed on PVP time and strategic time but i think it is way off.

- Put in item loot. 1 item per death. Patch in No drop gear from Halloween 2001 style events so that noobs stand a chance against twinks. Maybe patch in a lowbie tier, a mid tier and a top tier no drop item set so that Item loss is not the "OMG PEOPLE WILL QUIT" scarecrow people say it will be. It can actually make the server alot more interesting and engaging than it is right now.It will give noobs something to look forward to when they can at least stand a chance against twinks when not 4v1.

This will create an economy on lower tiered items, and will make noobs anticipate a juicy kill when they gang up on that annoying twink 4v1 and finally kill him.

- Hire a person who is down to create events such as the Halloween 2001 event. It doesnt have to be that complex. Just something to get all the levels together in one zone, where noobs can get buffed, get gear, and all the while people are killing event mobs and PVPing for them. These kinds of events will make the server way more fun than a 5v5 event, no offense to Amelinda who's been trying. It creates an organic style of pvp where anticipation builds up as people send each other tells like "Hey somethings going on in South Karana, named Cyclops are spawning".

Kunark will not change anything. More zones for less people. Some people will login for a while, new blood will be booted off the server by the twinks dominating the new starting zones and it will be back to low pop again.

Maybe' but the real reason is there are too many pussy-ass faggots that can't compete.. Rather won't compete.

No More Excuses!

Reported for insults outside RnF.

Also I played a shitload and never saw you in-game, guess you only like red servers when they are devoid of pvp.
