For me it was the wonder of the combine spires in GFAY. What could their capabilities be? Why do I discover other Combine spires during my travels?

My first death by auto-follow in Eastern Karanas while auto-following along that huge cliff! You won't make that mistake twice...

The lore of The Hole and wanting to break in to that damn sealed door. Successfully crouching through it as a halfling, and being disappointed there wasn't a secret zone to the Plane of Underfoot.

Seeing two moons in Plane of Sky for the first time. Luclin and Drinal.

I suppose this is more nostalgia than actual features that P1999 didn't get quite right.

That sense of wonder when you first discovered the internet can be used to help you with video games instead of just looking at porn and proceeed to print out every single spell, strategy guide, and maps for your necromancer, 3 hole punch it, put it in a 3 ring binder and study it front to back in history class.
an exact account of my high school days ^^

Ambient City/boat music
Forced spellbook meditation
Classic & Velious (pre-luclin customizable) UI
Correct AC and mitigation formulas
Correct damage formulas
client/server mana/hp synchronization (ghost ticks)
Overall difficulty.. this game feels so much easier the way damage/ac/mitigation work than live did

Thats what p99 is missing, but more importantly are the things p99 has no control over that just weren't as present 13 years ago:
extensive voip communication
solid internet connections
knowledgable playerbase
more "mature" (using this in reference to age only) playerbase
Smaller playerbase

On topic, I'd have to say that I really miss the ocean travel theme playing on boat rides. What a jaunty mariners tune that was [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I miss it! It's probably low priority, if its on the radar at all, but maybe someday it can be added? Here is the theme on youtube

AH! I'd completely forgotten that music played in OOT.

Thanks!

I would also like to mention the small (gigantic) issue of endgame being completely unClassic, and to all intents and purposes, ruined for the majority of the server.

Didn't the raid rules/situation vary for different servers?
