Made viable raiding guild in five days. Shit ain't hard if you're willing to put the time into it. Lots of new faces on the box. Will some people jump ship to nilly? Sure. But I'll recruit more people and wish the old best of luck rather than take to the forums to cry about it. I'm more concerned about creating an environment people don't want to leave than worrying about who may leave.

What are the real pro's and con's with variance and static?
Currently we have the static system and atm that just becomes the zerg fest that we see every spawn day. So mass recruiting is the only way to even get close to having a shot at a mob? With a low pop server like this? I dont see the con in variance. A lot more zones to keep track off. Fighting off the enemy guilds tracker or group. Also gives the euros a shot at getting a mob every once in a while. I know you guys in the current power position are loving it but in the end it will kill the server. Just like before. If you care about the servers health and you value competition, i dont see why not? | ||

The lack of variance is what will make velious impossible to lock down for nihilum, allowing tons of alternate progression paths for other guilds. Nihilum can't be holding down sleepers key mobs and NToV and at the same time stop another guild from killing tormax and statute and vindi or going for dain or going for tunare or doing a different wing of tov or going for velektor or post revamp going for inny or ct or minis or keeping Phara Dar down. There's just too many fucking mobs too spread out when all up. Add variance to the equation and it becomes easier.

Plus when they're in sleepers they can't be bothered to suddenly port out if another guild is going for dain or tormax or dozekar or west wing or whatever. Even if you were to raid like 12 hours a day in velious you would be hard pressed to kill every single mob. Velious is going to be good for other guilds, variance will kill the ability of the less hardcore guilds to plan ahead of time for raids. Without variance I can tell my guys, "ok raid at 8pm est" with variance who knows and I have to pray enough people log on to the call of a bat phone and beat out the other guild to the mob.
Tl;dr if ur guild sucks ass at mobilizing variance will only make worse your issue
