I think the point you've missed is that those Democrats who you think exclusively attack Christianity grew up around Christianity, and not Islam or the Jewish faith. Those religions don't have a majority share in America to the degree any form of Christianity does.
I don't give China shit, most of the time. I give America shit because I live there, grew up there, and understand it better. Similar to oppressive conservative Christianity, we're all familiar with that bludgeon. Internal criticism is usually more valid.
Not all conservative Christianity is oppressive. But the oppressive Christians are always conservatives.
