Needless to say, my nemesis mob was not going to let me off that
easily. So I logged on my L1 rogue tracker and dragged Loraen's
corpse under Yael. I convinced Alawen to jump down on his cleric
Daire and he made it on the first try!

So we decided to clear up the tunnel together and split the loot while
discussing the various class imbalances in EQ.

Somewhat surprisingly, Alawen favored some suggestions that buffed the
hell out of druids. But its true Enchanters are something of a broken
class design. Sadly my pet was too puny to proc its Rod of
Lamentation [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I ivu pulled my ratman warrior back down and asked Alawen to watch and
hopefully not have to rez me [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You can see how much damage the necro dots do. I had a L48 pet
instead of L46 and I runed it before I sent it in, and Dartain is
slowed and still winning, and he resisted the nuke I'm casting right
there. My pet died with Dartain at - yes, again - 0%. Fortunately
that fallen erudite had aggroed again and was sitting around.

And one application of puppet strings was just enough. Probably I
could have beaten him down with the RoA but I decided enough was
enough. The one positive thing: he dropped the Withered Leather Tunic.

So with this Loraen has achieved Solo Legend status and can join Svenn
at the top of the post, albeit in a rather gimpy way. I'm going to
start working on the god mode mobs again now so hopefully there will
be some interesting posts here in the future.

Grats on the practice kill, however: having the buffs of 1) heroism and 2) bulwark of faith make this kill invalid.

JK grats finally, and nice withered leather tunic - should pay for all those idols and deaths taken =).

BTW I really enjoyed that readup on the kill. That is dedication in its finest. Waiting until the next day to CR, buying a idol, jumping down then BAM master fucking yael DT's you. And then to keep going! Well deserved mate, congrats!

Glad you could get him down, Loraen! I felt just a little bad that I didn't leave seb to come get you that idol you needed, lol. I did get a little more progress on my sheet done shortly after that discussion, though:

Again, the fight itself wasn't too eventful. Lulling and invising and fighting my way into his room a half dozen times over the last week or so and cultivating the frogs right near him to get a good pet + no shamans + easy-to-lull targets and dealing with crit lull resists (ALWAYS on the first mob in a room I'm trying to lull, of course)... that was what kept things entertaining!

When I did actually get him to pop, I had just been pulling a bok knight out of the next room over and prepping in his room, out of LoS of the frogs outside, shortly before each spawn, then camping off my pet aftewards and coming back on in enough time to med, rebuff, get my pet again, etc., all the while playing some old PS1 games with a buddy.

Shortly after he popped: http://postimage.org/image/o6pkyvghn/

I had a couple charm breaks, but at least they were nicely spaced apart so that I could get rune and berserker strength back up between them. Fight winding down: http://postimage.org/image/3wuz4hm7l/

No hammer on him, but oh well: http://postimage.org/image/qsk6sqbvp/

I'll probably be working on pickler (and maybe simultaneously commander) next, because I'm putting off dealing with locked doors and underwater zones that I need to face in order to finish all of disciple tier. My progress is slow right now anyway, cause I was on a bit of a leveling kick to get through 59 and now I'm enjoying some time outside of seb trying to make some plat, too [You must be logged in to view images. Question about Dartain. You said he IS immune to mez? Is that ever connected to stun immunity though? I noticed in sky the other day I was getting "your target is immune to the stun portion of this spell" or whatever when I was mezzing, but mez was sticking just fine.

I suppose not, now that you mention it, they just happen to go together (giants, dragons, everything over L55 etc). I should have tried to Rapture him to verify it, but IIRC he just flat out resisted every mez.

He's definitely stun immune though. Kind of a retarded set of messages [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

[Wed Jan 16 12:10:48 2013] Your target is immune to the stun portion of this effect.
[Wed Jan 16 12:10:48 2013] Dartain the Lost is stunned by scintillating colors.

Daire and I were heading to HS to dungeon crawl and make key corpses and decided that we should undo the work of whoever it was who gave weapons to both of the cliff golems.

First fight, WoT and WR and weapons on foreman, raptured golem to WoT+shiftless (1 resist, I was surprised). Got him rooted easy and then pet was on him. I also stuck cripple, weakness, and a couple nukes on him with maybe 30-40% resists. Daire cast MoK 3 or 4 times to stick it, CHed the pet a couple times (from like 50-60%), and the fight was over. He never summoned, was rooted most of the fight, reslowed easily, etc. It was surprising how soundly the foreman thumped the golem, given that the golem was only 65% slowed and was weaponized.

Second fight started off not as nicely, cause shiftless resisted 3 times right off, so I had to use 2 raptures to get debuffs on him. But after that, pet didn't break. Root didn't want to hold early in the fight so I kept getting summoned, but slowed golem hardly hurt me and Daire patched up the bit of damage he did do.

We looked at the duo master stuff after this and are thinking we might have to work on it. Hopefully the other stuff we duo will drop more than a half a dozen gold pieces and 1 jasper, though... [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Solo'd Froggy the other night. I had C2, and that kinda saved me, but otherwise used no clickies. Got lucky in that he was up with no healers around in the nearby rooms. Got a bit unlucky with some fast root breaks, but got him down before he got me!

Solo'd Magi Rokyl on Kloktor (59 monk) tonight. Not too hard a fight, just gotta resist a few nukes here and there and its cake. Did it without any buffs/pots and without a fungi. Stacked a few resists (114/134/128 - mr/fr/cr) and disced at the end. Fun times.

Nice Ploktor, I tried on Sakuragi and I didn't quite have enough push without haste.

Also if anyone is interested I updated my enchanter guide a bit with a few new strategies.
