I have heard the 'low powered' argument before regarding the Danish study. It's ridiculous. They had 6000 volunteers! Their primary problem was that COVID is so mild. And in any case, the onus is on the people who want everyone to wear masks to prove they work. Have you noticed that none of the $billions are going to such studies?

Culture influences behavior and vice versa. Having to suddenly alter one's personal habits and family traditions is a form of culture shock. Certain parts of the world's population experienced this to a lesser extent based, in part, on their cultural norms, their national policies, and their immediate relationships. For example, those within the cystic fibrosis community were already social distancing. If a word or phrase serves to reinforce certain behaviors, that is not in the same category as faith healing. Let's not confuse secular pledges with religious practices.
