In another vein, if a rabid dog is biting people you don't rip the teeth out of healthy dogs, you vaccinate for fucking rabies. Our society has systemic issues, especially the breakdown of community, that is making people sick and miserable and isolated, as well as vulnerable to thought programming by social media. Not sure how we're realistically going to fix that one tbh, would require a complete reformat of our culture.

This assumes everyone thinks twice before committing a crime or causing a problem that there is someone with a gun that will stop them.
