![]() Games used to be a hell of a lot more eternal when they were on cartridge or disc
Fuck this “has to be online to play single player games” bullshit

![]() Ubisoft CEO is a dumbass, companies like EA and Valve release their old game code because it costs them nothing and once it's EoL the good press from doing so is actually worth some tangible amount more than just hoarding it, especially after you've already done like Game of the Year / Bundles..etc and squeezed every bit of cash out of it already.

also if the old FPS game is free and people can host their own servers that means you actually have to do more than just release the same call of doody over and over and put forth effort in making a sequel that's good instead of just pulling the plug on the old game's servers to make people buy the new one

![]() But if it’s Goldeneye vs mode, you know I’m taking Odd Job. You can even go ahead and use the golden gun. You’ll never hit my little ass

![]() yeah that looks good, like a mix between Dwarf Fortress / Dungeons of Dredmor / KeeperRL type roguelike

![]() Yeah I definitely feel the Dredmor in the active skills. What's neat about this one is it's an open world, so you're not stuck in a situation where your only option descend descend descend and die to thing too strong for you to handle like what plagues basically every other roguelike. Then level up some and come back. There's like 14 different learn by doing type skills and a good number of weapon masteries. As far as I can tell, you're not limited in what you can learn and it just takes time. Been really enjoying it.

![]() I had been promising one of my closest friends who's a super nerd that I'd play classic anniversary WoW with him once I get my new pc
I started on hardcore though, until I die, which probably won't take long because I'm not going to min/max this shit. Then once I die I can xfer to his realm, or it auto-xfers I dunno I woulda gone hunter especially since it's 2nd strongest (or arguably strongest) hardcore class, but friend says his raid guild already has 3 hunters and needs locks. I played a lock to 80 back in vanilla TBC, even got 1800 raiting in 3's on him in arena. So I can do lock I guess. Casters are annoying to have to spin to face rogues and warriors spaz spinning all over you like a crackhead (if I ever pvp on non-hardcore realm), in addition to having to juke their interrupts. I never liked it as much as hunter Wanted to get an extra S in name but it was too long. Wonder how long I'll keep it...

![]() I apparently rolled on the wrong server
My friend said that is the old hardcore servers. So I have to log onto ANNIVERSARY realm, which then dumps me into some server names Dreamscythe. Then I have to go BACK to the server select button, then exit that server, then pick Doomhowl hardcore server Because that’s good programming What they should have coded is to make you have to create a character on Dreamscythe, then get a quest from a level 5 quest giver in the next town to open the server select screen and then pick a different server… Or how about just make a list of all goddamn servers at the start screen when you log in! Had a level 3 who had a sweet blue pouch bag drop already, all for nothing. Ah well, at least I was able to keep my dumb name on a re-roll

![]() The fact they even created a new hardcore server when two already existed for barely a year was stupid AF to begin with. Completely killed the scene IMO.

![]() Isn't Doomhowl the server everyone is supposed to be on for hardcore?
