You don't need to set your color depth to 16. Have it set to both 32 on the desktop and inside the eqclient.ini file.

Here is some lines I changed in my eqclient.ini file

NewUI=TRUE

UseD3DTextureCompression=TRUE
MipMapping=TRUE
ShowDynamicLights=TRUE

TextureCache=TRUE
VideoModeBitsPerPixel=32

Width=1680
Height=990
(obviously this changes depending on your screen size)

Must say my client is working very nicely now on EQMAC, expecially since I found out how to adjust the fps with nvidiainspector.
Got a necro up to level 11.
Want to hunt wisps? Make a level 1 mage and give myself some magic daggers. Score!
(But I decided commons sucked even so. Too many adds. Went to nro where it is very safe)

Seems like a waste, but I doubt I'll be back. Too many problems with this server and just reading through the forums doesn't give me any incentive to get to the end game.

I was having very strange problems with this.
The graphics were messing up very strangely, and I was running at supersonic speed.
Fixed it.

You need to set processor affinity to 1.
This is what my command line looks like...
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start /affinity 1 eqw.exe
I thought I understood you here, but I am not sure how to type to the \cmd window.
i typed it as you have it and it didn't like it. also, will this "affinity 1" mess with anything else in my computer?

my issue atm is everything is moving at the sound of speed..even mobs.

Yes, setting the affinity to 1 should fix it. All it does is restrict the program to 1 core. It won't affect your computer at all. Normally this is done for you by wineq when you tick the affinity box.

What you have to do is drag the eqw.exe onto your dektop with the alt pressed down. This will create a shortcut.
Then right click on the shortcut... properties.
Then type what i said into "target".. ie

IF you need to fix your FPS issues and your gfx card software doesn't allow it, there is a freeware program called dxtory with an FPS limiter. I have mine set to 60 and it works perfectly. Fraps has one also, but only works in record mode. Dxtory is always on without recording.

I tried this program, and it did limit my framerate; however, it cause a whole lot of stuttering. For instance....Say I'm walking at 100% my normal walk speed....DXTORY would slow my speed down to 50% for a second or two, then speed me up to 100% while also teleporting me forward a few feet. It was really weird. I tried it on two computers.

I have officially found a fix to the slow horizontal mouselook, but it only works on nVidia cards. If you are using an nVidia card, go to the nVidia Control Panel by right clicking on your desktop and selecting it. Once in, I forgot where it is, but it's called "Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames". Set it lower than 3. I set mine to 1 and it made my vertical and horizontal mouselook about the same speed.

I have yet to find an option like this for AMD RADEON cards. There is a "Flip Queue" something in RadeonPro (a 3rd party program), but it doesn't do the trick for me, even though a lot of people talk about it. I use a program to show my FPS in the EQW window, and in some zones, I get 500fps, even if I have vSync on.

It has been known that high-FPS is directly responsible for the horizontal mouselook problem being slower than the vertical mouselook. I've been looking for ways to cap my framerate at 30fps, but I can't find anything. I've even tried fpslimiter 0.2, but it doesn't work either. And yes, I installed JAVA and installed it correctly.

Any help with AMD RADEON cards would be greatly appreciated. No matter how much I max my graphics settings and force higher settings in the Catalyst Control Panel and RadeonPro than the game allows, I just can't get my framerate to go lower than 500fps in some areas.

It's annoying, because, if I'm in PoK, my fps is about 125-150, and it takes about 5 feet moving my mouse across my computer desk to rotate my mouselook character's view (in first person) 360 degrees. If I'm in....say....Field of Bone, in the middle of nowhere, during a storm (reduced visibility), my fps goes up to 500, and it takes my mouse about 50 feet across my table (which means I gotta pick up my mouse about 25 times to move it more across the table).

It's annoying as fuck. Hobart, the EQMAC Dev fixed it for MAC users, but for some reason, it doesn't fix in EQW.EXE emulating the EQMAC client.

HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLPPP!!!

Playing the game on an AMD RADEON is so annoying if you use your mouse to look around. Thanksfully I found a fix for my laptop running nVidia, but I still have yet to find one with my main computer's RADEON card.

Default EQMAC ON PC - Horrible Horizontal Mouselook Speed - Not The Same Speed As Vertical

So, I'm sure a few people are aware. On the EQMAC server, running on a PC using EQW.EXE, the horizontal mouselook is hella slow.

Example: I'm looking around in first person view. If I want to do a 360 going to the right, I right-click and hold, and drag my mouse across my desk to the right about 50 feet (which means I gotta pick up my mouse about 25 times so I can drag it 2 feet to the right again, and again, and again). If I want to look up? I move my mouse about 6 inches up, and I'm looking straight up.

It is known that your framerate is what causes this. In highly populated areas where you have low FPS, it may only take you 5 feet across your desk to do a 360 turn. In areas where you have very high fps, like Field of Bone, during a storm (no visibility), it takes you about 50 feet of dragging your mouse across your desk to do a 360.

In the PC client, they put in a "Max FPS" slider to solve this issue for many. Unfortunately, the EQMAC server never got this patch, hence, they have the issue. Hobart, the dev for EQMAC found the issue for MAC users and fixed it for them. Unfortunately, for those of us playing on EQW.EXE using an Intel PC, this fix doesn't work.

I have found a fix for nVidia users. Right click your desktop, go to the nVidia Control Panel, then to Manage 3D Settings, then find "Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames" and change it from 3 to 2, or 1, or 0. Depending on what works best. I set mine to 1. My laptop has an nVidia card and it fixed it. My mouselook for horizontal and vertical is about the same no matter what my framerate.

I have yet to find a fix for AMD RADEON users. If anyone happens to know something similar, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share. I have tried FPSLimiter 0.2, RadeonPro, and DXTory, but they all don't work. Anyone else know any decent FPS limiters out there or any fixes for RADEON users?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I have tried using the "vsync=TRUE" modifier in the "eqclient.ini" and I have also tried setting "MaxFPS" for Foreground and Background to 30, but I still get 125-500fps in game. It's like the "MaxFPS" in the EQW.ini file doesn't work at all.
