California's climate conditions are far more favorable and less deserty than dozens of other states. The x-factor is that it's also full of naive hippie idiots in positions of power who don't understand the realities of energy production. There is absolutely no good reason the power needs to shut down in california, ever, even during the hottest summers.

Also gavin newsom looks like a villain from an unreleased robocop sequel.

I live about a quarter mile from the San Joaquin in the central valley. Several of my neighbors were evacuated when the river hopped the main road out one side of my street and held about 2.5 ft of standing water which still floods the farms now on the other side of the road.

We pay a lot of fucking money to our state to incompetently manage our dams with a fuckload of money going to these dam projects for "maintenance" which they have neglected to actually provide the service for.

It's not a matter of cost effectiveness, it's a matter of no productivity on behalf of the state and municipal services sector who are pissing our money away on literally nothing, as they havent retrofitted the dams to be modularly adaptable to the higher water levels our reservoirs used to store.

Instead they squander all the money policing the reservoirs for "invasive" shellfish species and other retarded shit that has essentially barred the entire state from utilizing the open bodies of water that were once used for both living and recreational purposes.

Hope this perspective helps you to understand the root of the issue going on here.

this was not always the case, so cal is the worst water management in the country. they wish they had detroit water, at least it flows in detroit

they are the laughing stock of the country in the utility industry. they blame it on everything except leadership. agriculture, climate change, personal consumption etc.

check out the salton sea (lake created by accident), then dried up and became an alkali dust storm nightmare, and tulare lake, which was the largest body of water west of the mississippi until politicians and cotton moguls got their hands on it. be careful tho, it rained alot this winter and cali politicians are claiming an ecological victory over the puddle that formed where tulare used to be

then look into the Los Angeles aqueducts.

So what's the good reason all those old people froze to death in Texas?

Because texas only gets that cold once every 100 years. California gets as hot as it does every single summer, there is no excuse for them not having their shit together when it comes to basic energy infrastructure.

Texas not being prepared for a once in a hundred year event that has basically no reliable window of predictability is not an indictment of their energy infrastructure or it's readiness.

texas is the only state that manages it's own grid like its a sovereign nation because it expects to become one.

and like the infrastructure in the rest of the country, its antiquated, ill-maintained and otherwise ignored until shit hits the fan

and all for greed, just greed for different reasons than other places like cali's brownout grids

you don't understand this because you're a retarded basement dwelling dipshit who pipes in with whatabouts while actual grown ups are talking.

you will reply to this with, "yeah well look at, or whatabout this, or tucker, or trump"

like 100 people die per year from the heat in cali alone

and you think you're somehow special, making a point, you think you have your "gotcha"

just like your real life, you have nothing.
