Yea every once in a while someone defends themselves from a marauding thug with their glorious arms and then everybody claps. But probably just as commonly you have gun-toting rage machines slaying each other over traffic maneuvers and little kids blowing their cousins' head off while playing cowboys and indians. Fact of the matter is, places that aren't super-saturated with guns have less gun deaths. Who knew? Guns should be owned by responsible and intelligent grown-ups. When the wider culture treats buying and owning a gun like buying a pack of sparklers, you end up with the whole left half of that bell curve stuffing glocks down the front of their pants and then Texas ensues.
What a wonderful place lol where you have to consider that if you tap-honk at a pickup sleeping through a green light, that the embarrassed chimp inside is going to blow a fuse and shoot you in the face.

Yes, no shit places with lots of guns have lots of gun deaths. That is obviously true. Places with lots of cars have lots of car deaths. You're not actually making a point.
There are far more defensive uses of firearms every year (people defending their own life or somebody else's) than criminal gun homicides. You just never hear about those stories, they're typically relegated to the local news. The national media only gets their dicks hard when the story can be used to villify guns, so you only hear about those stories and end up with a completely skewed vision of reality. It's the exact same thing they do with cops; they only report stories when they can make the cop look bad. They don't cover the billion other stories they
could be covering where cops are good. What you *don't* hear about is almost more important than what you do hear about, because our media is total shit.
So go ahead and ban guns, but tons of people will die who otherwise would have lived if they had a gun. Sorry, small vulnerable women, maybe you just shouldn't go to that part of town ya know?
