Agreed! I would put up with high taxes and business regulations if the Dems actually stood for free speech and total social freedom on drugs, sex, gambling, you name it. But instead they double down on identity politics/reverse racism while being gutless when it comes to what consenting entities do in the privacy of their whatever. They only wave the multi-colored flag because it is an easy way to pander to a broad base of voters.
out of curiosity would u have voted for Bernie? I am under the stupid impression that he would have won.

hey i'm a social liberal too, this was me a couple years ago. its sad because i believe in a lot of the things the left "should" stand for on a strong genuine level, but i have to vote against them because they're inept/corrupt and i don't want to reward that. many trump voters hate the GOP and i was one of them. the best thing that can happen to the democratic party is it fails, fractures, and reforms or splits into new parties. right now the neoconservative/neoliberal democratic old guard is running the show and they're incredibly out of touch with the bulk of the party and most americans. even if they find another obama from out of nowhere, they have no platform anymore and they don't seem very poised to change that. its starting to happen.
I am pretty sure it has failed, and is fracturing and anything that is contrary to that is just media false news and hype.

you wont get one of those for.. well seemingly ever.

I just dont think the dems have what it takes to get their shit together at all. I dont see it happening. The entire party is in the pocket of the media, trying to chase their tail for booming headlines. You heard it yourself, the top democratic hopefulls and the top media eletese all agree, its a nothing burger, yet they wont cover/talk/look at anything else.

There is literally zero hope beyond someone materializing out of thin air and winning hearts and minds.

My real concern is, if we will see change under trump. Meaning a major change, as in a new war, change in world power allies or whatever. I could see it happening, though I am sure it wont.

But if you look around the world, seriously, find someone who is like upset with the way things are in america, where do you tell them to go? Canada? They are going ot be a shit show next election, Australia? sure maybe.. but other than Australia, there's no place to go that doesn't have HUGE problems for a liberal.

Even if you moved to Scandinavian, guess what? They wont have you. You arent allowed also all their money comes from your black gold you hate so much. And they're super racist... so... what? where do you go? Nowhere, because you have been living in a fantasy world if you are a liberal. There is no place on earth that subscribes to your idiology. Sad.

Trouble is that the money is with the established paries already and campaigns aren't cheap on any level. The old guard will have to be voted out and the current fracturing of the parties is probably a symptom of the new guys coming in, but how long until they fall in line because of the money is the question. Campaign finance reform and term limits for all would ease the transitional congestion, but that's asking guys to basically fire themselves which proly isn't happening and would likely require and amendment or two.

I am all for equality of opportunity, Bernie is more about equality of outcomes. Correct me if I am mistaken. I did want him to win the Democratic nomination, and I believed that he was sincere in his beliefs and wasn't just pandering to the largest common denominator, that is pretty F-ing rare in US politicians these days.

How is a free college education really an equality of outcomes? I guess you can make that argument for healthcare. If everyone gets a free dental cleaning their be no incentive to brush your teeth god damnit!

But its kindda stupid because there is plenty of ways someone is punished for not making money other than healthcare. Starting with the fact that they have no god damn money and Bernie Sanders hasn't said a word about giving people like that any.

I doubt brain dead couch potato bums are thinking WOOT! Free college! It's only those stuck in some clerk job that want a finance degree and an internship -- give it to them.

Not that will solve our long-term workforce problems. But a lot of skills are going to need the government (people society) to chip in if we want to foster the kinds of skills that pay well in a global economy. It sounds all sickle and sythe commie to some -- but its not. It's just about using taxes to foster a decent business environment for well-paying jobs. People need education for that.

Wish Trump had the balls to do free education. I know on some level he knows that a good idea. Maybe we would have to restrict college majors so Republicans would feel better about it.
