Amelinda did favors for people for money. She didn't just advertise baked goods. I'm not saying there aren't good staff and if you have built some friendships with some of the devs I am not attacking that. This project was run terribly. The people you say put in a lot of time really didn't. They ran a couple events over 8 years. The changes made to the coding or how the server was run has been minimal over those 8 years. If you have any experience with any other emulator servers you have to admit that those servers get much more attention.
Project 1999 as a whole has had a tremendous amount of work and time put into it. Red99 on its own was just copied from blue with little work put into it. If there were devs that enjoyed this project here and there it still didn't matter because Rogean has always been a bottleneck to change on this server. If people enjoy Everquest pvp and want a good server to play on they are going to have to get over the whole Rogean has to run it thing and move outside of P99. P99 has been done with Everquest PvP for years at this point and don't have any interest in it. The dream that P99 is going to launch a new PvP server is delusional. Either move on to another game or look into the other projects that have devs that actually want to keep classic EQ pvp going. The cult following this server has is deserved because of the hardwork that has gone into Project 1999 as a whole but people need to realize the red99 project does not equal the quality of the blue 99 project. You can't clone a server, flag everyone for pvp and ignore it. Even if half the devs weren't corrupt and awful it doesn't matter. The lead dev having no interest in change or working on the server ruins it. If he could delegate that would be a different story but he hasn't in the 8 years this server has been around. | ||
