You are correct, that "evolution" is called Amendments to the Constitution. The one that pertains to firearms is the second.

Fewer people own guns than did 30 years ago. What we have is a small collection of paranoid freaks owning multiple fire arms.
Please state your source, because you are wrong.

And the Amendment that pertains to women voting is the 19th. And the one that pertains to slave ownership is the 13th.

Despite the high number of guns estimated to be in the U.S., indications are that gun ownership is actually on the decline. The long-running General Social Survey, maintained at the University of Chicago, has been asking about gun ownership since its inception in the 1970s. It has found that the number of people who say they have a gun in their home is at an all time low – hovering around 30 percent, from a high of 50 percent in the 1970s.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Forty-seven percent of American adults currently report that they have a gun in their home or elsewhere on their property. This is up from 41% a year ago and is the highest Gallup has recorded since 1993, albeit marginally above the 44% and 45% highs seen during that period.

Population increases means fewer % own guns but overall the number is higher, which is the only statistic you cited (didn't read 20 links). Also weariness of the government and general paranoia may have increased. If you call me with that survey I'd probably just hang up on your ass, unless I was drunk I'd say we only shoot to kill here since warning shots are too expensive with liberals taxing my bullets.

That was 1993, during the steady decline.

I included "The Blaze" a right wing nutjob site that hosts Glenn Beck just for balance (for you). Even they cannot deny the facts. Get over it. You lose!

Also Mexico invading the border for 50 years totally lowers the % since Latino is like the lowest gun ownership rate

Agree with r00t, if some college kid (or younger), or anyone for that matter, asked me on the phone, street, mail, whatever, how many guns I owned, or if I owned any guns, guess what my reply would be? "No comment"
