Russian history is fascinating. This one reads like a story making it one of the more engaging historical reads.
Nice, adding this to my list. Thanks! There is a good one about Marie Antoinette called Abundance that I liked a lot.

I loved this book. I also recommend "Nicholas & Alexandra" and "The Romanovs: The Final Chapter". Mr. Massie really knows how to make his subjects come back to life. It was hard for me to put any of his books down.

I might check that one out. I love reading about her. I really liked "Marie Antoinette: The Journey" by Antonia Fraser. And if you want to know more about the fate of her son, the dauphin, after the executions of the king and queen I highly recommend "The Lost King of France: How DNA Solved the Mystery of the Murdered Son of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette" by Deborah Cadbury.

It was really good, but so sad and tragic that I actually cried.

I will definitely check those out. This is my first of his books, but I am becoming a fan.

Seems to be reading a lot differently for me now at 30 with a wife and 2 kids than it did when I was taking confirmation classes 17 years ago.
