I remember this very well, it pissed me off so bad that I took my tower to the local computer store to download the updates. The first time I when I expected to pay a huge fee to download it, but I found out everyone that worked there played EQ too and on the same server. That's about the time I got really into EQ since I actually knew some RL people who played.

As a new player (ie with some first impressions) I would say staff could probably improve this server downtime info quite easily without much effort. There r 2 things:

- inform what the patch will improve during or before patch (details i mean) so that ppl can read about them during patch (appologize if this is actually already done and i missed it)
- post frequent updates to the patch message, say every 3d hour. If you post updates every hour people would probably think "omg how can they give such good service without getting salary?! im lucky!" [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I get that there can be improvements. there always can be. But these guys do great work that no one pays for. Really nothing to complain about.

However, I am talking about improvements that dont really require much effort. Such improvements i believe are worth taking into account by the staff. Its a win win situation both for staff and "customers" [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I have no complaints about the down time what-so-ever. Since I have started playing this is only the second down time that I have encountered as opposed to FFXIV, Eq Live, and numerous other games that have long periods of down time every week. If I was running shit I would keep the servers offline for every negative/bitchy remark in this thread. But I am a vindictive bastard.
