Only until a few expansions ago, BST's were pretty bad. Our guild didn't even raid with any until they got the HH group buff.

I thought berserkers were super OP and could like one shot anyone for the past several expansions.

May be thinking of Monks. Monks can now kick for 500k + in one shot. =p

Bers were great burst, meh dps. I don't pvp in EQ, but their snare (non dispellable) was outrageous for tearing people up pvp wise :P

Can kick for 700k+, if you have all of the kick AAs, use Ironfist, then Synergy, then Crane Stance, and crit the Crane Stance hit. Normal kicks aren't anything like that though.
