You simply can't haphazardly remove something like plugging from a game like Everquest. To remove it is to give greater power to classes that can gate and completely shit on melee classes.

Melee are more powerful than casters.
It doesn't give more power to casters anyway. Casters can already gate and return. What exactly is your point? If you are running from a caster and zone out, then the caster is generally going to be out of line of sight and/or out of cast range when trying to follow. Plugging mainly removes the threat from the other end of the zone.
Removing plugging actually favors melee even more, because casters with no mana can't plug and escape death. Do you not realize that casters have finite resources whereas melee do damage, FULL damage, as long as they are over 20% health?
