It might be a good idea to assume the position has changed.
I wrote a similar program about 5 years ago and figured it would be a good idea to ask in the Petition / Exploit forum whether it violated the rules before I released it. I never got a response to my inquiry (the petition is still there) or to a thread in the Server Chat forum about the same topic. In the end I opted to release it but not actively promote it.

A couple of years later, Rogean weighed in after someone else developed a similar program. He was pretty unequivocal:

"Programs that parse the log file are fine, as long as they do not do any type of automatic control/response/manipulation/macro on your character in place of manual control."

If you decide to make the use of this particular class of log parsers a bannable offense then you should mention them specifically in Third Party Tools, Exploiting section of the Server Rules. One can certainly argue that these programs are at odds with the server philosophy but it's pretty clear that they comply with a reasonable interpretation of the server rules as they are currently written.

*giggles...for me that would most definitely be at the expense of said group I was supposed to be pulling for. Sort of like the opposite of chain-pulling ;o)[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
