There aren’t many good shoulders. Also when luclin hits shawl 8 has an amazing extended buff focus effect.

In theory P99 could see an 8th shawl without Luclin ... IF the devs decide to add custom content and IF they decide to add an 8th shawl (which may or may not be the same as the one from live).

Personally I'm hoping that if they add custom content they'll not just add an eight shawl, but also some version of the rest of the iksar shaman cudgel quest, the rest of the qeynos badge quest, etc. Since all of those are originally "classic" quests, it seems to me that completing them as custom content would be a very classic form of customization.

It's not at all likely, but it's more likely than Luclin dropping, and one can hope.

Keep in mind on p99 FT1 + FT2 = FT3. Is completely possible this could change to only accept highest value (no stacking, so you would only get FT2 bonus in this example). More evidence is being gathered in that regard.

In that case, it would not be worth it if the change is implemented and you gain a FT2 or higher item.

Edit: should clarify would be not worth it if you did it just for the effect in the above scenario. It sounds like a wonderful quest, i wish there were more progressive quests like that in the game. I did my monk shackle quests and it took a bit of time /farming and i quickly outgrew it, but i had a great time doing it and felt very rewarding to complete it!

I think this Shoulder Item is a lot harder to outgrow. Even if you're in a high end raiding guild the Flowing Thought is limited or can be expensive or cost a lot of DKP. You can save that DKP and instead of prioritizing FT1, you can focus on hp/resists/mana, or gear out in a more creative path than Ft1, 2, 5.

In the end if you're striving for BIS then shoulders are really an alt item. Either way, fun quest - worth working on!

All the Iksar epics (so I call them) are technically Classic, even if all but Greenmist weren't implemented until later than Luclin, and in some cases much later.

In fact, a year or two ago on Live, they fixed a BUNCH of old supposed-to-be-Classic quests on Kunark.

Everything was completely useless by that point, even for the levels, but it's the thought that counts, and could maybe serve as inspiration for p99.
