I’m working the ski season in Niigata Japan this year, and this week is Chinese New Year so we’re flooded with a bunch of folks from China, Singapore, and Malaysia.

People are buying up face masks from all the stores like hot cakes. It’s impossible to find them back in China and Japan has a shit load of them. Saw a lady at the hotel last night with a pile big enough to fill multiple checked bags.

It’s pretty wild.
Yeah, lot of the drug stores down here in Fukuoka are sold out as well due to all the Chinese tourists (and locals getting nervous about the spread). Japan flying back hundreds from Wuhan into Narita with no quarantine procedures and just telling them "stay home and keep an eye out for symptoms" is fairly risky.

I went to Tokyo during the last SARS outbreak. Was pretty tense atmos. Narita was a sea of facemasks.

Just saw news that at least 4 from that evacuation flight of 200+ are now showing signs of coughing and fever after being released in Tokyo. Excellent work, Japan! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Australia is repatriating its citizens from Wuhan to a quarantine centre on Christmas Island. The USA is sending its citizens to a military base in California for quarantine. The UK is just dropping ours off at Heathrow. LOL we're so screwed.

hmm..why the crummy pop-cover aesthetic? i have this guy's hole album and it's kind of sad. he's a sad guy. juxtaposed with all that sublime european visual art it makes me melancholy. even the eurocentrists have gave up educating themselves on europe. i never learned one piece of great european music from a white nationalist. i think that dream is dead, guy, if even you won't bother to dream it.
