But part of the small measure of respect I have for streamers is putting up with the degenerates who are their audience. Most well adjusted adults are not following streamers, so that leaves not only pre-pubescent teenagers, but the ones so socially awkward that they spend their time watching streams and not doing RL things

On the rare occasions when I watch a clip from a well-known streamer, you can just hear the weariness in their voice as they interact with their viewers. You know that 99% of the communication coming their way is complete banal bullshit, and that’s not even including attempts to get them banned or other really shitty prank attempts
