This only became a problem with red players who on average have about 30-40 less IQ than blue players. Red players will post things that are stupid and inflammatory and repeat themselves over and over again no matter how much evidence they're confronted with. Just look at what Kelgar posted in a recent bug thread:

I feel like you have never played a bard, and have no clue what you are talking about based on your comments about this known fact. If you want to fuck up an entire class based off of your own ignorance, ego, and unwillingness to research before opening your mouth, then go ahead, otherwise, figure your shit out and fix it.

This was directed at Kanras (a dev), and, in addition to being completely rude, Kelgar was 100% wrong about what he was saying. No matter how many times he was proven wrong, he kept on repeating himself and ignoring the evidence. Literally not a single player on the blue server is this dumb (except maybe Hasbinbad).

The problem is that the red server has probably a hundred players just like this who are presumptuous, narcissistic, illiterate assholes who immediately jump the gun and bash the staff before even trying to be calm and diplomatic first, and when they're called out on their bullshit, they either (a) ignore you, (b) strawman everything you say or (c) call you a "fag". You have guilds like Holo who will wave their hands in the air and cry that the server is ruined one day, and then complain about the staff not recovering their corpses (that rotted because they ragequit) fast enough the next day*. When you act like an ungrateful douchebag you lose your ability to demand things from the people you're acting like a douchebag towards. So instead of thinking of the rule against bashing the staff as an affront to your free speech or a rights violation, think of it as a guideline for how you can resolve your disputes with the staff more easily and get what you want.

*(this is just a made-up example, I don't think holo actually did this)

You make a very sensible post, but you're in danger of losing your claim to neutrality lately. :P (does not detract from your ideas)

A couple comments:

Some people will always act belligerent, but the reason why that belligerence becomes more widespread is because of the perception of bias.

The perception of bias exists because the ideology of the server staff more closely aligns with one set of players, and differs from the ideology of another set of players.

As for the quality of character among players of one server versus another, I would say that the biggest reason there is so much animosity towards the staff here(and thus the perception of rudeness) is that this type of server attracts the most lawless, and has too many laws for their liking.

Theres a difference between healthy fun shittalking on a free to play game that most of us love to play since it has so much nostalgia involved, and obviously overboard, crossing-the-limits flaming.

I've really come to the conclusion that this perception exists because people are just cry babies. they PERCEIVE bias but it's ridiculous.

I can see our ban forum, you can't. I know which guilds i've banned or suspended more people from....yet people still cry.

We don't name & shame here. We don't have a wall of bans or anything like that......SO i guess the perception is that staff leaves one or the other guild alone.

I think a lot of holocaust's animosity towards staff comes from the public announcement of their ban/disband/suspension etc. That was months ago.
