Does anyone know how clickies worked back in classic-PoP era EQ? Secrets said he would look into the issue of having to double-click clickies like goblin skull earring or rod of glamor, etc. for the gcd reset on the condition that double-clicking wasn't classic.

Seems like an arbitrary line to draw since there are other non-classic things on PQ, but that's his decision. It's not even certain that it could be fixed, but at least he's willing to look into it if it's indeed classic.

Feels weird posting takp threads on p99 forums, but here's the discussions takp had when implementing the GCD clicky bug/exploit:

https://www.takproject.net/forums/in...evisited.6055/

https://www.takproject.net/forums/in...-to-cast.5780/

I don't actually see it mentioned anywhere that using clickies twice was required, but there's old AK players that were still fresh off AK at that point, saying single click worked. When this was first implemented on TAKP, it had an internal cooldown on clickies, so there was small delays forced between using clickies themselves. Looking at posts alone, I don't see why this couldn't be posted as a bug report on TAKP or PQ today.

I'm like 97% sure it was intentionally done in era to stop GCD clicking.

I just asked and Secrets replied he's not fixing it if that's how it was in-era. I didn't play back then so I have no idea.

Yes, that option exists, but then it inverts your mouselook elsewhere (first person) which creates a new problem.

The mousewheel camera is a client hack. It doesn't work very well yet. Secrets is trying to improve it and a new update is scheduled for around October 15th. Ultimately Secrets is working to support EverQuest Evolution as the main client, which is very similar to the current client but includes the patch that added the real mousewheel camera like P99 has.

You can wait for these fixes, but I recommend just getting used to playing in first person more because vanilla EQ launches are a lot of fun.

This is my primary hold back from this project. Everything else is super cool. Do people that post here actually try this Beta? This mouselook is ridiculous (at least to me coming form P99).

Yes, I just use first person a lot more than I would on P99.

i don't know if this was just kid me not knowing any better, but I pretty much exclusively used first person 1999-2001 until I went to DAOC
