I run win7 pro x64, quad core .. followed the instructions according to eqemu/p99 and have never had any issues with game-play. I'm not sure if anyone has had issues with quad-cores but running on win7 wasn't an issue.

Actually, when I hit alt+Tab to fullscreen, I get device reset error time to time.

You wouldn't have any problems with the titanium client. Modern EQ's graphics are more performance intensive than what you would be using here. Honestly, don't pay for the client - like has been said SOE give the files away for free anyway - just not the specific version you need. Nobody is going to come banging down your door to drag you through the courts and ban you from using a computer for life because you downloaded an ancient bit of software to play some classic eq. If SOE didn't want people playing this they would have shut ot down a long time ago.
Yea, I noticed even with the graphics turned down, the waterfalls and the character models were still way better than the trilogy ones. Back then I use to have to fiddle with certain models in certain areas, usually just the human and elves with the better graphic sets. I tried the tutorial and the entire area is unplayable to me. Reminds me of the bazaar way back when. That was terrible.

And I see your point regarding downloading what they already give away for free. I wonder if any other sites besides that one mentioned also has them. I might check around. Old Dog Gamers or something like that I think, had classic games either for free or for very cheap.

OP is 'Original Poster', ie., you in this thread. l33t is an alternate spelling of 'elite', which more or less means 'cool', but also makes fun of the user for being a dork.
Oh, Elite Speak... yea I have heard of that before, never used it myself though. I never got the reason behind it.

Well that sounds encouraging, as I stated previously, playing the actual live game server lags badly. Hopefully, if I can aquire a copy of the game, I can check it out. I would love to play it like it was meant to be played or so it was back then.

I already replied to this, however I actually did a search for a client and I could not find any for free. However, why doesn't Project 1999 give the download for free themselves? I mean seriously, if it is content that can no longer be received unless with lots of money or under the radar, but it's all ok, why not simply have this site have a link? SOE isn't going to shut down the site, since after all they are giving away the game right? I am sure one of the mods or admins have a Titanium client to put here.

You know what I say ClassicEQPlayer?

I say, keep on keeping on.

October just started. It is kinda warmish where I am currently, but it is definitely getting cooler and cooler outside.

Let Fall pass into Winter. Fuck them all.

I'm here to walk you through this. Right now, we are still trying to get some shit down, but there is gonna be more to come, before you manage to get into the world, I am sure.

And I am here.
