Ive seen item loot implemented on many servers and each and every one of them died as a result of that.

Absolutely not. Item loot is horse shit. After a few weeks when high levels emerge and a few months when twinks appear, it'll just be twinks ganking lowbies for their gear. Right now there's a moderate level of grief and all a pvp player gets is satisfaction of a kill, not even item loss or exp anymore. Add in they get to take an item, and boner factor goes up x 50. You'll end up right where ya started. Top heavy with minimal population. You think level 50-60s gonna port away from their raids and exp groups to chase around the same lowbie gankers? Negative.

Its the same reason you have to be careful with SZ Ruleset. There was grief and ganking on SZ back in the day and that was when people paid for their accounts and had some level of interest vested in them. Here the account is free, one gets banned u can make 10 more. You make a server with a wild open rule set that allows just about anything, that's what you'll get. 50 wanna be heroes running around, stroking their neck-beard, jerking off to every train, pvp grief, corpse camp, bind camp, and shit fest they can think of.

Take what Mrbigs does, sits in Unrest and PKs lowbies all day, everyday. Imagine 50 Mrbigs spread out, with no fear of reprisal able to do whatever they want, in any way they want. Cant beat you? Train you, once trained. finish you with pvp, take ur item. Bind camp, corpse camp. Did you have 5 hours to exp? Not today your being corpse camped for 3-4 of them. Bring in some high levels (yeah they'll leave their raiding to come help you) He camps out, comes back in 45 minutes after they get bored of nothing happening. Now you'll spend 5 hours dodging, and being griefed. What fun, he doesn't have a job he has 12 hours to play, hes got nothing better to do.

This will happen. It happened on live. It'll happen here. Esp because of the type of crowd that free / unbalanced pvp attracts. So be smart, no item loot. Formal, enforced rule-set that appeases the neck beards desire for pvp but doesn't allow them to destroy the server.
