It's amusing that many people think America is this liberal controlled country when in fact America is by FAR the most right leaning first world democracy on the face of the planet. Maybe discounting Singapore if you want to nitpick about it, but they have an even higher debt to GDP ratio than we do.

On the world stage I'm pretty far right given my support of the death penalty, gun rights, etc. But in America I would be considered either left or center-left.
