Default Classic

I really don't know you aside from making some small talk in Perma that was rather friendly.

I'll just say I remember Classic EQ... Especially close to Kunark launch... Having the same problems. Show EQ was being used by top guilds and up-and-coming guilds trying to be top guilds... Only, the confrontations were so much more terrible.

900 people play at peak times. Remember when it was 1600-2000+ in Classic? Remember when LGUK was unplayable some nights due to the guilds having train wars against eachother?

Pettiness was so much more common then too... I remember my first Fear raid. After the 5 hours of trying to break in and dying so many times we were finally in and pulling Boogeymen. One of our Necromancers didn't win on a roll for some cryosilk against a new guy and had a ragefit. He ended up running north and dragging a horde of silverbacks, spiders, and fetid fiends on us and murdering all 25ish of us. His punishment? Nothing. No guides were on and the next day they said there was nothing they could do to penalize him.

I loath cheating too... But, I play the game for what it is. And, when I can get one up on them by beating them to the Ishva Mal... Or taking down Maestro or Phinny before they can assemble... It oddly feels even more rewarding.

I love classic because no MMORPG can match the challenge that EQ once was. EQ will beat you to your knees and make the littlest inch rewarding.

Do what makes you happy... But, put it in retrospect that cheating was a shameful part of classic.

If Alawen is gone, why did I see him (and get a SoW and Screenshot) in the Karanas the other night? 0_o?

Pretty much, it's just a matter of time when the people are caught, and how much permanent damage is done.

Alawen will lie about his account being sold and pretend he's someone else so that he doesn't have to deal with his poor reputation anymore. Then after about a week of playing he'll come back to the forums and make a thread revealing this, surprising no one. In this thread he will create some other excuse for why he's "quitting" again (real life commitments, not paying enough attention to his wife, going to cooking school, etc.).
