Plain and simple, how has the fact that the vast majority of raid mobs are taken by one of three guilds not raised red flags back at the office that something isn't right?

not really, only faction is required to sit on any line which is a common part of Velious xpac ( grinding faction for the cities )

MageQuesting requires min/max mage placement, creation of mage bot army ( inb4 QQ about 2 mage per wing bullshit ) and constant occupying/socking on those bots where a fizzle or not will determine a winner sometimes. Mages were inching closer and closer, it was getting really dumb and we all know how much Sirken hates when trackers are up the ass of these spawns.

I dont see how anyone could think MageQuest would allow for a lower barrier of entry for casual guilds than simply walking up to these zonelines w SoW on and faction.

I am going to go ahead and say a solid portion of the mage guild bots that exist today, were leveled through primarily Bard AE or Chardok PL methods, which are no longer as viable with the non-classic 25-target limit as well.

So returning to mage questing would further disadvantage the guild who do not already have a few shareable magician toons leveled up.

I don't really understand how needing bind sight, sow, a screenshare if running on Monk, and a DA idol is a lower barrier of entry than sitting on a Mage and pressing a button.

I did plenty of ToV coths and it was the easiest thing in existence albeit soul sucking.

Coth w 1 hour engage locks would be even worse as it would combine the two worst aspects of the what we have known from Velious raiding.

Continue to troll and use your bias, the only people who feel mages would be better and 'easier' than the current ruleset are from AM and to which I say 'no shit' it would be easier for your guild to pick up mage-ing again, the army is built and you know what to do with them. ( dont forget TL boxing every 5 min, casual guilds would love that aspect )

The point is, all these up and coming guilds would be at a huge disadvantage compared to now where all that is needed is a few basic things ( SOW, DA idol, tracker ).

This isnt about the success rate of FTE racers from guilds not named A/A, its about the opportunity for those guilds to be able to 'try'. It will always be super easy to have a recruit sit on a mage bot, tell them to stare here and press 1 button when big ass dragon pops. Sure I agree when you frame it that way, MageQuest is easier.

Its getting to that point that is majorly difficult and outright impossible for guilds just trying to break into the raid scene. I have been to both sides of this spectrum, I know a thing or two about the pros/cons of all these rulesets.

Happy trolling [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I'm a classic nazi and I wish we had luclin, actually I'd be pleased to donate or even help with the expansion, I prog in C, C++, VB and love researching, my occupation.

PoP was the end of EQ for me. Luclin I loved. I shite my pants first time in Nertherbian Lair and I loved the mobs up there. Didn't like the cats but eh overall it was imo a great expansion. I loved the bazaar, literally hate the tunnel but each to their own.
