I had a fucking blast last night. My CoV faction is wrecked, every single one of my clickies have been depleted. I ate 2 or 3 corpses. I ran around NToV like I owned the place without DA on for the first time ever.

We'll see how it is a couple months from now though. The burn out can be real.

Look, I know this is RnF, but maybe, just briefly, could we try talking about what raid scene we genuinely believe would be best for the server? Could people talk honestly about why competition matters, what it even means to them, whether they really care about people playing EverQuest better, or whether they just want a private club that others can't join? Could we talk about stuff like that ...

... instead of just trying to make the most clever personal attack? I know it's a longshot, but you'll never know if you don't ask.

I think people may be surprised that you go on and on..... and on about these topics. Haven’t you realized that yes, this is about a private club others cannot join and always has been about that. The players that want “competition” gain satisfaction from denying the “enemy” (other guilds) pixels, no matter how insignificant the pixels may be. How have you not come to that realization already? It doesn’t matter what system (outside of a rotation) is in place. The motivation is the same.

If you think that RnF is only read by the people who yell the loudest in it, or even for that matter server chat (as these discussions often bleed over), then you're missing most of the audience. Tons of players (and, one can only hope, some staff) read these forums too.

And all those (unspeaking) people can make up their own minds, based on the arguments and personal attacks made here, what opinion they want to hold. I certainly won't stop making them just because a few folks try to shout me down.

Instances IMO. Since we're clearly doing away with classic mechanics, just instance raid zones. "Competition" on P99 rewards those who have absolutely nothing else to do. That was fine in 1999 when we were all teenagers, but it's not 1999 anymore.
