When you're a drug addict, the idea is to not throw the book at you. You understand that much. Why would you want a person with addiction issues to be sent to a place where there is nothing but drug dealers and other addicts?

I know people who have had troubled pasts, got 5 felonies for pawning items that were not theirs. In the end, the court game them the option of treatment and upon completion the chrages would be reduced to misdemeanor of some kind and a big fine.

Should they have just thrown her into prison for a decade or let her continue as a contributing member of society? High functioning drug addict that works, pays rent, etc. Spent 3 or 4 months in jail awaiting trial, too.

What should the judge do? Reduce them to cinder?

We're well past "dont break the law".

You generally can’t expose yourself to kids without some kind of a charge, unless maybe gays get a pass

I had a co-worker have to legally fight against having to register as a sex offender for pissing in public with a school in visible distance at 10pm at night after coming out of a bar

The idea that it’s 10 at night and therefore no kids were at the school and could see his dick should have been obvious but he still had issues
