Letting a president do these things without consequence is in itself a massive failure and would always be a stain on our country. Idk if Pence and our Military heads will stop him if he does something stupid, I certainly dont trust any of them though

Have faith in the Republic. Even if DC fell (it won't, I think) many states governments would still hold power. Not one hundred percent curious what that world looks like. But it would be far from easy for radical extremists to govern in all jurisdictions long. The people willing to fight, would quickly burn through their human capitol. And the military would institute martial law. Trump cannot remain president at this point after jan 20th? Or 19? Pretty sure that thered just be no president and command of the military would fall down the chain of command.
That'd finish Trump for good and make him an enemy of the state. He's not quite there yet (sorta, not my personal opinion, its the way I see the power elite attitude) . And he doesn't want to have trained guns on him. I hope, and also think he's capable of realizing what kind of predicament he's in and still able to act in his own enlightened self interest. Now if he plays ball, he might get out of prison time and get secret service security on the taxpayer dime. I think that's how former presidents work.
