And the people working for them aren’t slaves. Their wage is based on their negotiating power, which is based on their skillset. If their wage isn’t good, most likely it’s because they have no skillset to have any leverage in that negotiation
Why don't we just let people willing to do your job for less immigrate here on a work visa to save company money? Wouldn't that be a lot more fair and better for the economy?

Well its a work visa. We're not talking open borders here. There is a big backlog of indian kids that want to come move here and work for Google/Facebook for 40k a year....their American counterpart makes literally over triple that often times....

For now...

Then it will go the way barrelmaking did.

I just hired someone at $24/hr. They have no special training or degrees other than high school diploma. I hired them because they have shown that they worked at one place for 5+ years which means they show up on time and have the minimum competency to complete the job. If you can show that you can do a job well for a long period of time, whatever it is, then you will not be making minimum wage.

Wages are higher than normal right now. That's probably because of Trumps kick ass tax cut- oh shit, Biden is president now. Must be crazy inflation he unleashed on the country with his bill that hasn't passed yet.

It is the same wage she was paid when Trump was president.

Edit: actually she took a pay cut now that I think about it.

I get hundreds of resumes that are like 5 pages long because they work at home depot for 7 months, then dispatch for 5 months, then front office for 8 months, etc.

Even the far left isn't gonna give 15 dollars an hour to Mcdonalds workers in New Mexico.

Never gonna happen unless inflation drives up the cost of a burger to 12-15 dollars.
