Last year was a very strange year with very few market pullbacks. People getting spoiled with no volatility.

Check the Dow my man. Hope you have a defibrillator handy
I watch the market every day, it is my job. It doesn't surprise me at all. Most people have been expecting this for a while.

some fat obese whales from the UK I know through work have invested to the hilt in BITCOIN, mind you, probably when 1 bitcoin was 8k or so, these blokes aren't exactly hip to the net; my business partner just got off the phone with 1 of them trying to wrangle a 20k donation from us for their upcoming "mastermind" event in Las Vegas. Clearly they are desperate for cash and it was despicable beggaring.

Sad to see obese fat alcoholics lose their earnings... or is it?

The thing is they are hoping scarcity saves bitcoin long term. As the emp said, he is long in crypto because the finite amount of coins and such.

Will scarcity alone be enough to float a a steady incline in price in the coming years? That is a lot of years for world governments to take action. And China is already banning them and expelling anyone in their country who is involved in crypto.

If scarcity is the only thing you are putting value on there are already alternatives to that. That is the point of commodities or any other inflation protected investment. People aren't buying bitcoins speculating that it will just make up for inflation.
