rather extensive research has been done to estimate how many roman soldiers it would take to over come a marine corp squad, or an abrams tank.

every wargame scenario has the squad (8) eliminate a few cohorts until out of ammo, or that single squad with resupply eliminates literal legions of roman soldiers. im omitting details like terrain, obviously if the marines can't make tactical withdrawls they get overrun. we're not considering weapons maintenance and wear and tear.

abrams tank without resupply kills an entire legion and probably more

it can't ever be breached, has 3 machine guns and a 120mm gun, after all that ammo is gone, it just drives over soliders until it runs out of fuel and battery, which could theoretically go for days
