Owning a car is somewhat of a detriment here. There is literally zero parking so it takes you about a half hour of driving around the block to be able to park your car. If you can finally find a spot your likely to come back the next morning to find your key scratched or dented because of how people drive and just the mass of people living in this city. Even our billionaire ex-mayor mike bloomberg took the subway to work everyday because traffic here is a living hell and our subway system is so extensive. You can go across the city in 45 mins for $2.50, hell most of my friends don't even know how to drive.

New York is similar to Montreal for this. Im 38 and the only car ive ever driven was some found stolen car at the park with the keys still inside when i was like 14. We never knew who stole it just passed around between teenagers.
